Vega Strike

Space is big... very VERY big, and a proper space sim will emphasize that space is big. Vega strike does that not only by having an actual huge space, but by also keeping it alive!

You start out as a guy who has little cash, and has recently inhereted a space ship (from his dead brother I believe). So you must decide what you want to do.. best part to ear cash in the begining is by buying and selling cargo.. the prices make sense, a mining operation will sell resources cheap but buy food for alot for example. The whole point of Vega Strike is to just live in the huge universe and make as much money as you can by any means necessary. This includes but is not limited to: becoming a merchant (trading cargo), becoming a pirate, doing freelance missions, becoming a bounty hunter and more. Of course space is not the safest of places so one can even upgrade/replace his ship. Earlier I mentioned that the universe is alive. what I meant was it is extremely dynamic. There are 3 factions, 2 of them allied and one at war. And there are often wars in between them, aswell as pirate attacks and the likes. and all this can be seen in the news computers on every station. The game boasts excellent graphics, easily the best a freeware game has ever reached. and the pure freedom and real space feel outdoes any commercial game of this genre that I have played. also the game features a campaign you may follow if you ever feel like it.

Pros:

Great graphics and sound effects
Exciting combat
Dynamic and huge universe
Feels very realistic

Cons:

Realism isn’t always a good thing, going round a planet can take ages
May take a while to learn, reading manual highly recommended.
