Bombermaaan

This is a remake of the original Bomberman made by a french programmer in 2001. Presuming that all of you played some Bomberman version sometime, the gameplay is the same, but with some particularly nice innovations in the graphics, music, and powerups.

Gameplay:
The gameplay of the original Bomberman was good, but this exceeds every Bomberman clone I've ever played (and I've played a lot of them!).
Although the main gameplay is the same (you run around in an "arena" and try to bomb your enemies), the programmer added lots and lots of Powerups such as speed, throw bombs, kick bombs (trust me, these 2 are different), but also negative powerups such as inverted directions, extremely slow player, etc, etc, etc.
What I particularly liked is the Multiplayer options.
You can decide how many players you want, the arena you want, the time limit of the game, and much more - there are not too many settings, but yet enough to make every game feel different.
You can play with up to 5 people on one Keyboard, or, if you don't find enough space (which is likely to happen), you can also control your character through a Joystick.
There is one minor drawback though: The AI.
It's nice, but not perfect. You'll sometimes find bots who get stuck, and that sucks a bit - best is to play the game with another human opponent and with other players played by bots.

Sounds / Music:
As a professional musician, this is always a point that gets too much attention from me.
However, I have nothing to say about this.
The music is cool and matches the game perfectly, the sounds are good for a freeware game, and match the game perfectly too.

Graphics:
The cartoonish, but not chilidish graphics are a main source of all the fun in this game. With several screen modes, you will be certain to find what you need.

Map Editor:
An unofficial Map Editor is included with the game.
5 maps/arenas are included in the game, but you can save up to 10, which means you can create every map you want using the map editor, and if you created too many - well - just delete some of the official maps! It won't hurt...
The editor is very simple and, although it is specified that it's a beta, it never crashed or bugged when I used it.

NOTE:
This game is still being developed, so I'd recommend you regularly check out the creators website to get the latest version - he's got quite some stuff planned for this game !

Other note:
You can also download the Source code for this game at the creators website.

Pros:

Good gameplay
Cool music
Nice graphics
Multiplayer
Map editor
Good replay value

Cons:

AI can get boring after a while
Seriously, I'm searching...
