1213

1213 is a 2D RPG/adventure game much like the old classic, FlashBack.
You are 1213, all you know about yourself is that you are a prisoner and a test subject, you do not know your own name. Every day you are made to go trough a tough and painful obstacle course for no apparant reason, other then the pleasure of a bispectacled scientist. One day you are given a gun for some target practice, and locked back into your cell, the gun left in your posession, presumably to torture you with thoughts of freedom, but as you sit there that day, yor prison door opens....

The story development is simply amazing, much like Yahtzee’s usual (5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Sceptic, Trilby's Notes) the story is well played out. 1213 is very different to yahtzee’s usual games however, in that it is a 2D side scrolling adventure game, with a slight focus on action as well as the puzzle solving. As mentioned before the gameplay is very similar to Flashback. The story unfolds itself trough cutscenes and computer logs.

1213 is played in 3 episodes, each very short, but nontheless, very good. Episode 1 has a somewhat horror theme to it, altough the 2 episodes after that arent quite as scary. altough all 3 episodes scream "conspiracy" but its never obvious what this conspiracy is. The graphics in 1213 are simple, but they get the job done well, and sound effects are mediocre, but again they get the job done.

Pros:

Amazing story
Very original AGS game

Cons:

No inventory, can only hold one item, this can get rather annoying
Pausing doesnt always pause everything
